Bolder Board Training with TED Talk Alumni Dan Pallotta Comes to Manitowoc

United Way Manitowoc County and Dan Pallotta are excited to announce that The Bolder Board Training will be hosted in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Located just 45 miles south of Green Bay, this is the perfect opportunity for community leaders in the Midwest to come together and learn about creating audacious, scalable possibilities for community-level impact. Part lecture, part workshop, the event will be held on Monday, September 11 from 8:30 am to 4 pm at the Holiday Inn at 4601 Calumet Ave. Tickets are on sale now for $175 and can be purchased through United Way:

The Bolder Board Training is a workshop coming to six cities in 2017, but this is the one opportunity in the Midwest available this year. It highlights the double standards surrounding charity and empowers boards to create sustainable and scalable business models. It helps nonprofit boards work with their executive directors to awaken, articulate and pursue their most ambitious goals for impacting the community. Past participants report results in areas such as better board alignment and empowerment, new interest in innovation and more effective long-term and strategic planning. The skills developed from the Bolder Board Training are essential for nonprofit leaders who are serious about creating positive changes in their community.

The day-long session is the first board training specifically designed to offer boards a pragmatic and conscientious alternative to the norms of nonprofit finance, governance and development. Organizations are encouraged to bring as many of their board members as possible. Though directed toward nonprofits, the workshop’s universal message can be applied to both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. “It is not a traditional training on governance and finance,” said Dan Pallotta. “It is an immersion in possibility and aspiration that positively and radically disrupts traditional ways of thinking.”
